Our Practice
The Vein Center & CosMed is one of just a handful of medical practices in the country primarily dedicated to the treatment of vein diseases. Its founder and medical director, Dr. Mark Blumenthal, has focused on the treatment of vein disorders for more than 20 years. It was during his training as Chief Resident at Barnes Hospital that he realized that the common surgical treatments for varicose veins and related conditions were archaic and undesirable. He then dedicated himself to pursuing superior alternative methods to treat these medical and cosmetic conditions.
Dr. Blumenthal has observed many "institutes" and "spas" in the Midwest who claim to be experts at treating venous diseases but has yet to find any other facility that offers the quality of treatment consistently provided by The Vein Center & CosMed and its staff. He is highly respected in the St. Louis medical community and has trained many physicians who have benefited by his knowledge, and now provide the same degree of care in different parts of the country. He is frequently called upon to teach the newest techniques in vein treatment to other physicians.
